North Adelaide Baptist Church

Hire of Church Premises

The Church, Hall, Hall kitchen and Meeting Room are available for hire on either a casual or regular basis.

The Church

This beautiful old church has been built as an auditorium, with a sloping floor and tiered, polished wood pews giving an excellent view of the central area at the front of the church. This is a slightly raised platform ideal for weddings, speakers or musical performers and is adjacent to the console of the fine old pipe organ. There is also a raised pulpit in front of the organ pipes, which makes the speaker even more visible to the audience.

The Church holds about 480 people and has excellent acoustics, making it especially suitable for musical events. A PA and recording system is installed. There is a piano in the church; use of the organ should be discussed with the Church Organist. Easy wheelchair access is available via the ground-level door on the eastern side of the church and wheelchair space inside the church is on the same side. The Church is an impressive and elegant space, with beautiful stained glass windows and a highly ornamented ceiling. It is close to the many restaurants and cafes of O'Connell Street.

The Church Hall

The Hall is ideal for meetings, social functions, exercise classes and more. It has a wooden floor, space heating and an attached kitchen which is also available for hire. Capacity (theatre style) is 100, capacity (dinner style) is 50. Chairs and tables are available on request. There are tea and coffee facilities, wheelchair access and after-hours access is available (an opening fee applies).

Please note that no liquor licensing is available for functions. Alcohol is allowed within the Hall if it is provided free of charge during the time of hire; alcohol may not be bought and sold on Church premises.

The kitchen opens off the Hall and has gas ovens and stovetops, microwave ovens, dishwasher, fridges and preparation space.

The Meeting Room

The Meeting Room

This comfortable room is especially suitable for meetings, club gatherings and social functions. Capacity (theatre style) is 50. It is carpeted and has 50 chairs, a piano, tables, an overhead projector, DVD/TV/Video, tea and coffee facilities and after-hours access (an opening fee applies). Toilets are located behind the Meeting Room. Limited parking is available on site. On-street parking is available in Tynte Street or there is a parking station opposite the church under the North Adelaide Village shopping centre.

The former Manse (Minister's residence) stands next to the Hall on Tynte Street and is no longer used by the church. It is now a highly regarded restaurant, "The Manse", specialising in fine dining. See www.themanserestaurant.com.au for more information.
