Couples choosing the North Adelaide Baptist Church as the venue for their wedding choose one of the grand historic buildings of North Adelaide, listed among Adelaide's Heritage buildings.

The Church boasts some of the finest stained glass windows in Adelaide, each with its own story, and a splendid pipe organ, reputed to be one of the finest in Australia.

Being a Christian Church, the Services offered are distinctly Christian: the blessing of God is sought for every couple as they make their vows and begin married life together, irrespective of their own religious commitment and involvement.

Pre-wedding consultations
At least two preparatory consultations with the Minister are required prior to the Service.

What to bring

• Your birth certificates
• Certificate of death of previous marriage partner, divorce papers, passport or citizenship papers (if applicable)

What to know

• Your father's full name and country of birth
• Your mother's full MAIDEN name and country of birth
• Birth dates of any children (if applicable)

Rehearsal
Normally a rehearsal would be held during the week preceding the Service with the full party in attendance.

Flowers and pew decorations
The families may wish to arrange the flowers in the Church themselves, or hire a professional florist. Damaging fasteners must not be used with pew decorations.

Music
While music for the Service is usually provided by the pipe organ, any alternate arrangements would have to be made in consultation with the Minister and/or Organist. In keeping with the atmosphere and style of this historic building, the use of live bands is not permitted.

Recording of the wedding
An audio tape recording of the service is given to the couple at no charge.

Photographs and videos
Selected photography and video taping may take place inside the Church by those officially appointed after liaising with the Minister. Other unobtrusive photographs may be taken from the pews; however, free use of flash cameras and moving around the Church is discouraged.

Ushers
It is recommended that at least two ushers be provided to supervise seating of your guests.

Wedding fee
The Church has a flat fee of $550.00 (inc. GST) for weddings, with a $100.00 deposit to be paid when the booking is confirmed. The balance should be paid prior to the wedding. Payments can be made to either the Minister or the Caretaker.
